REGV® – Regenerative Vacuum Heat Exchanger
REGV® – Regenerative Vacuum Heat Exchanger
During the stabilized state of process, the outgoing hot deodorized oil exchanges heat with feed bleached oil; in this process, deodorized oil gets cooled and feed bleached oil gets heated. This heat regeneration phenomenon saves considerable amount of energy and making the process energy efficient.
As a practice, hot oil (deodorized oil) at shell side and feed oil (bleached oil) at tube side
Equipment is of horizontal cylindrical design, similar to FEVAC. Provided with sparge steam pipes at the bottom tube bundles for giving turbulence to the shell side mass for efficient heat transfer.
Here, the counter-current philosophy is followed for a closer approach temperature, saving on the additional heat energy required to heat incoming oil to deodorization temperature.
